Columbus, Ohio, December 30, 2015 — Spun out of Rewardrefer, Salary Star(salarystar.rewardrefer.com) is a brand new app that connects business professionals and college students, to exchange wisdom and star quality potential.
Aim for the stars
“Salary Star is where we break new ground”, Tim begins. Together with his three techies, Tim’s developing an app that helps students and business freshies to plan their careers from a salary point of view. Based on the student’s wishes and ambitions, mobile application salarystar matches with professionals from the right industries. The idea is to provide job leads.
“Salary Star is the new go to spot for finding your next job… The job that takes your professional life to the next level. The job that gets you the salary you deserve.”
Launched in the beginning of the fall, Salary Star already has a good 1000 active users. The ambition is to push globally, but at this stage, they currently put focus on attracting users within the U.S. The tech team is based in Columbus, Ohio while operating marketers and people working with media are based in bigger cities like New York, San Francisco and Chicago.
Give your dream company a call.
One of the great features in Salary Star is its real-time audio communication. “There are a lot of professionals’ and employers’ profiles to check out”, Tim said. “Set a goal for your future salary, and check which companies are your dream companies”. Then, users just call them up. “Talk about your career goals and salary perspectives, and find out how to achieve this after graduating”, Tim suggests. “It’s kind of like career advising”.
“Press the phone button and talk with them.”
The team is making this possible by using app-to-app calling, which uses the IP networks for little cost.
“Let me think… The biggest challenge we had to overcome was… Let me think…”
When asked if he’s encountered any big challenges during setup, he thinks long and hard before finally answering “I think there was no big challenge actually, it’s pretty simple”. Great.
Even though the time-counting feature is implemented to keep track of the minutes, first customers are offered free usage for 30 minutes, and after that, the caller has to pay… A lot more features are being implemented and tested and the team at company are busy designing more features to ease user engagement. With bilingual abilities and cross-border backgrounds, the team have bridged several career conversations between US and China in the hope of designing a cross-border user-friendly feature. Ultimately, the company arms to create more jobs for US educator and career coaches and spread US their career insights to the people all over the world.
As for the nearest future, Salary Star has set up two main goals. One is user growth, and the other is looking for financing. They’re going for 10K users.
Salary Star is something students could definitely have gone with when in college. It kind of brings the career thing to life a bit more.
